Construction has started on a 3,000-square-foot Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant in Canandaigua. The restaurant is adjacent to the Canandaigua lakefront and the Pinnacle North project, officials said.
The restaurant is slated to open in March. It is expected to employ some 25 workers.
Perinton-based based Indus Hospitality Group Inc. owns and operates the new restaurant and already owns the Farmington KFC franchise, officials said.
“Indus is fortunate to be embraced by the communities we serve and we are proud to be a part of our region’s exceptional hospitality industry,” said Jett Mehta, president of Indus Hospitality Group in a statement. “We are also happy to become a part of the Canandaigua community and its promising business growth and energizing lakefront development.”
There are more than 19,400 KFC restaurants in 120 countries.
